It’s that time of the year where our Le Pommier Wines had to strut their stuff against the competition. We’re referring to the annual Platter Awards of course! This being a big year with our new Olivia Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, which is a very special wine and was dedicated to the Le Pommier Wines Owner’s grandmother, making its appearance to be judged.
And while it was agonising holding our breath — the results and feedback was extremely positive and made us very proud!
Jonathan’s Malbec 2013 3 ½ Stars
“Named after a bull that once decimated the grape harvest, whose photo takes pride of place on 13’s label! This is a big wine, with scrub, blackberries, some cocoa & a nice savoury tannin grip.”
Red Blend 2012 (New) 3 Stars
“Merlot-dominant 4-part Bordeaux blend, ripe 12 has expressive dark fruit, vanilla spicing adding to the richness, the firm tannins showing its serious side.”
Olivia 2014 (New) 3 ½ Stars
“Semillon/Sauvignon gives 14 its minerality, wet pebble flintiness, the 9 months in barrel adding a biscuit tone. Finishes clean, fresh & long.”
Rosé 2014 2 ½ Stars
Sauvignon Blanc 2014 3 ½ Stars
